The RSACi label you used in the past is being replaced by a new and much-improved successor - the ICRA (the Internet Content Rating Association) label.
We are an independent non-profit organization, dedicated to keeping
the internet free from heavy-handed and ineffectual government
legislation.
Perhaps it is because ICRA is deeply committed to respecting different opinions, that so many major sites - from AOL to Playboy - have already signed up. For parents, an ICRA label works by providing transparency and choice. For webmasters it also removes any excuse for government and ISPs to interfere with your access to users.
Here's why you should now adopt an ICRA label:
- Webmasters of "adult content" sites don't want children visiting
their sites, nor do they want them using valuable bandwidth.
Labelling an adult content site sends a clear signal to governments
that the Web is willing and able to self-regulate.
- Sites designed specifically for children will want to label their
sites, because a label increases the level of trust in the site and
ensures their target market - kids - get access.
- For regular business sites, an ICRA label shows that the company is
doing the right thing and taking its corporate responsibility
seriously. Carrying a label maximises the potential traffic to a site
as cautious parents have the option to block unlabelled sites. That's
why it's just plain marketing sense for commercial sites to be
labelled.
To label your site takes about five minutes. If this is not your responsibility, please forward the note to your webmaster. It will help you safeguard the future of your web site... and the freedom of the internet. Why not make it the next thing you do?
Thank you for your support.
